WINNERS… 30th May – 14 selections, 7 Won, 3 placed, 2 e/w tips placed, 2 forecasts
First off no one hardly ever says they’ve read my blog or used my selections, so I might be typing for my own benefit here?
What a day. Surprised myself. Best for a long time, finally got rid of this weekend and last, where my selections mainly finish 2nd. Made even better due to the fact there’s been some very strange results today. 40/1 winners, 25/1 winners etc.
Day off work today and constant rain, so stayed in and spent a lot of time (2 hours +) doing research on today’s racing. For once thought I’d just have a go at tipping every race. In those two hours only got round to doing Towcester and Leicester.
Never expected the results to be as good as they ended up being. But due to being back at work tomorrow, I won’t be able to have the time to do it again until the weekend. I used the words ‘New System’ earlier on the blog post, but it was basically doing a LOT of research and reading and then putting it all together to make a selection. Info such as result last time out, days since last win, days since trainers last win, ground, form in general, form over race course, distance, trainer and jockey combined results, X versus Y etc etc. I knew TheStrawberryOne would win, and was 90% confident for Chris Bealby’s only horse at Towcester. Plus I’ve been doing well at Towcester past month or so with my personal bets that I don’t put on here.
Now for the daft bit… the only one I had money on was MARIE DU LAUFON.
I’m still more than pleased though with the day. Certainly worth trying again.
Winning prices: 5/1, 11/8, 5/6, 1/4, 3/1, 4/5, 8/15. A daft £1 would of returned £360

Bank Holiday TOWCESTER and LEICESTER Horses.
TRYING A NEW SYSTEM TODAY…
Also New format for today, rather than just put down my bets, I’ve gone through all races and done write ups. So you can then choose for yourself from the selections below. (prices stated are Paddy Power) Updated with finishing positions in Bold
TOWCESTER
2.15 – Erdeli – good chance of following up here with another win (won at start of month) 15/8 (unplaced)
2.50 – Crysander – should be too good for this race (3rd), 10/11. With Leopard Hills 2nd. (2nd)
3.25 – Ostland (4/5) from Downward Spiral. Cat Six could sping an upset though. (Ostland WON)
4.00 – TheStrawberryOne will win. Just like it did here last week effortlessly. But at odds of 1/2, I’m trying to find some each way value and Exiles Return won here last time out 10 days ago, and is 12/1. But only 7 runners so makes it more difficult. (TheStrawberryOne WON)
4.35 – Poor standard in this race. They all either haven’t won or find it very hard. I’ll go with Ilongue (7/2), and each way with Bohemian Rock 7/1. (Bohemian Rock 2nd) went off 11/4 favourite. 7/1 when I picked it.
5.10 – It’s betwen Terra Bleu and Marie De Laufon. I’ll go for Chris Bealby’s at 3/1. (Marie De Laufon WON)
5.45 – Can’t see past Art Broker, but it’s only won 1 of 15, and is 5/6 (unplaced)
LEICESTER
2.05 – I’m not keen on Maidens, but I’ll opt for odds-on Burwaaz , from Costa Del Fortune (Burwazz WON) and got forecast right
2.40 – Hmm, there’s 3 I could choose, but I will say Palais Glide (7/1). (3rd at 11/1)
3.15 – Bernisdale. Odds-on again 5/6, but I don’t make the odds. (Bernisdale WON)
3.50 – Ryan Moore on Diapason 13/2 but think it will be close, with Piddie’s Power (unplaced)
4.25 – Addikt 7/2 should be too good for Zafranagar (2nd) (Got it wrong way round, Zafranagar beat Addikt)
5.00 – It’s Evens favourite, but Chilled, Ryan Moore & Sir Michael Stoute. Uppercut to place 7/1 (Chilled WON 11/8, Uppercut 2nd, 7/2)
5.35 – Not totally sure, but Magnitude (5/1). Won C&D last year and off 4lb higher. (Magnitude WON)

EDIT: Today’s Selections: 26% win rate. 60% place rate.
Plenty to choose from today. 14 Selections below. Very risky choosing this many… It’ll either be a disaster, or the majority will win. If it’s a disaster, I will be going back to choosing 4 only. I’ve had money on them all, some singles, most either trebles or yankee. Singles wise the ones I’m more confident of are: JEER / LOLLY FOR DOLLY. (Prices in brackets are the prices I took at William Hill this morning)

3.40 CELERINA (9/1) 3rd
4.50 COMMON TOUCH (4/1) WON
5.25 JEER (100/30) Nowhere

LATE TIP on Twitter; ANTON DOLIN, WON at 2/1, Goodwood

LONGCHAMP Tomorrow – 2.45 GOLDIKOVA (4/5) Very Strong Bet!!! WON!!!
Sat 14th Bets inc. Lockinge.
Thanks for taking the time to check my blog. Hoping for a better Saturday this week, only 1 out of 4 won last week, which luckily was at 4/1 so covered the others and provided a good profit. I normally only choose 3 or 4 horses a day, but I’ve gone through the cards and noted 7. No massive prices, but aslong as they win that’s all that matters. My favourite quote I saw on Twitter this week was: “I’d rather have a 5/6 winner than a 100/1 nowhere.”
The pair I’m most confident of are Dick Turpin and Bosambo, hence my biggest stakes.
2.00 Newbury – POLLY’S MARK 2/1 (2nd)
2.15 Newmarket – CODEMASTER 7/2 (WON)
2.35 Newbury – MAC’S POWER 11/2 (2nd by a neck)
2.50 Newmarket – COSMIC SUN 6/1 (nowhere)
3.25 Newmarket - PARLOUR GAMES 2/1 (3rd)
3.45 Newbury – DICK TURPIN 100/30 (nowhere) (Worthadd each way at 25/1 – 2nd!)
8.40 Doncaster – BOSAMBO 7/4
Feel free to leave a comment on Twitter if you select any of the above, and hopefully they provide some profit.

One of them days – Fri 6th May
Some you win some you lose…. I gave two mates at work one horse today. A horse I’ve followed since last year. A horse I backed these past two weeks, finishing 3rd (Bank Holiday Monday) and first on Saturday. I even tipped on this blog on Saturday because PJ McDonald was back on it. You can guess the rest… They had it, I had something else. I was torn between Norville and the horse in question: IMPERIAL DJAY 8/1.
I had Norville on Monday, and it did well to win, even if it was a tight finish - to make it 3 wins from his last 4 races.
It gets better! I put my money on Sioux Rising!?!?!? The Result: 1st Imperial Djay, 2nd Norville. Nowhere: Sioux Rising.
I did have GLEN’S DIAMOND at 9/4. But that’s where the success stops.
On to Punchestown – I had a feeling WISHFULL THINKING would win. By far the best, to me a one horse race. Yet due to being busy at work, I didn’t have time to have a wager on it. Incase you didn’t know – it won at 11/4.
SICK! isn’t the word.

Quevega & Captain Chris WIN at Punchestown
Very good double today, albeit very strong favourites, a pair who I had a lot of confidence in. I usually always use Paddy Power, but this morning (8am) both were well odds on. So I went on Oddschecker.com to see if anyone could better them. The only alternative was William Hill, who were evens on both. Which was an advantage as I only have accounts with PP, WH and Coral. I never use Coral, and only used Hill’s for Cheltenham, as they were offering at least a point more on all the big races than Paddy Power!
Quevega went off 8/11, and Captain Chris 4/6.
My other selection today: Alfa Beat was very disappointing. Never ever looked like winning, or even being placed. Ran one paced through out in mid-division.
The double covered that loss though and still provided a good profit.
QUEVEGA has now won her last 4 races, and 4 of her 6 at Punchestown, and has an overall win rate of 75%.
After today’s success CAPTAIN CHRIS has won his last 3; today being his first race at Punchestown.

5th May Racing / Chester & Punchestown
Each way treble at Chester (on tips by @betonsportstips)
1.45 Captain Bertie 10/11
2.55 Nathaniel 7/4
5.10 Nibani 11/4
- – - – - – -
Then my picks at Punchestown
5.30 Quevega Evs. & 6.40 Captain Chris Evs. (Double) BOTH WON
Each way value in 5.30: Voler La Vedette 8/1
6.05 Alfa Beat 7/2
